Three Methods to De-thorn Roses

Updated: Feb 21, 2022

Although their prickly thorns can be uninviting, it is undeniable that roses are the queen in the world of flowers. To safeguard your fingers, Jan's Floristry ensures that all our roses are conditioned and had their thorns removed before delivering them to you. For friends who are planning to purchase fresh-cut roses straight from the flower suppliers, we have prepared a video to share three de-thorning methods so you can DIY at home.

Jan's Floristry also conducts flower arrangement classes, where we teach participants how to condition the flowers and share the proper usage of various tools with them. After the introduction, we proceed with demonstration, conceptualisation, design refinement and actual crafting. Participants get to bring home their lovely creations. If you are interested, you can find out more about our classes here.
